" I'm very impressed by the quality of this new version of the Holiday Special."

Do you see the contradiction in this sentence? Have you seen the Holiday Special? LOL!

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

First, let me say that I'm sorry that I've not updated the list for a while but we had some "disturbances" here on the boards and I was avoiding the forum but with our new MOD and the influx of new members. Now that the influences of the "darkside" have abated - I'll be posting updates to this list as often as I can once again!

SO to end my rant - I will be doing a MAJOR update to this list over the next few weeks (I have some time OFF from work!!!) - I'm going to update the whole list and try to make it a bit easier to read.

I've finished my latest discs and I hope to have them up as torrents in the next 30 days (I've other titles to post still )

Are these different then the making of star wars disc 1 & 2 torrents that are currently on myspleen? They look to contain the same material. Is there any additional material or is it a better transfer? just trying to figure out if it will be worth it for me to download this when its posted

Well, they don't have the Japanese subtitles burned in.

Hecjk ya there better - WHY?

NO JAPANESE Subtitles!

I HATE on screen NO removable subtitles!

I mean I LOVE Japanese film and would LOVE to learn Japanese but I just can't read it so I see NO need for there to be subtitles on stuff in my Star Wars collection if it does not have to be there!

It's too bad Classic Creatures and Making of a Saga only came out on LD in Japan. I gnash my teeth at the Japanese remaster of Making of SW and Empire as the old 80's US pressing had such a high defect rate. And the later VHS version that was a mail in premium has replaced William Conrad's narration for some mysterious reason.

SilverWook - The Making Of Star Wars As told by C-3PO and R2-D2 came from the U.S. LD and also has William Conrad's Narrative

The "FOXVID 3" can be seen on the top of the video still

Yes, I just noticed that.
It took years, but I got them all on LD now. (Don't mind the subtitles myself.) It's kind of a downer they seem to have been forgotten by Lucasfilm along with the ones made about the Indiana Jones films.

In the digital video (DLP) presentation, there is a shot of Anakin's golden robotic hand holding Padme's hand during the wedding sequence. This scene was only shown on the IMAX version but was added to the DVD realese

Actually I did see AoTC at a DLP theater (I was living in Florida and saw it in West Melbourne, the theater had just opened about a month before the release and two of its screens were showing AoTC in DLP). I was aware that the scene would be different for DLP so I was on the lookout for it. I saw the midnight release in DLP (metal hand at the end) and then saw it in a non-DLP theater the next afternoon (no metal hand).

Wipe them out...all of them.

I havent actually gotten a chance to watch the ones currently on myspleen yet, so didnt realize they had burned in subs. if i had known that, and known a new version would be coming out i wouldnt have burnt them to disc, at least not a disc that i had printed an image on...

That sounds pretty cool. Do you know anyone who has them?

I have them transferred from my factory original VHS. Excellent quality, but I'm sure the laserdisc looks better. Feel free to PM me if interested.

I was aware of two Raiders docs and possibly one for Last Crusade being on LD. But was the Temple of Doom one ever released on video? I have a copy taped off PBS in the 80's.

Hey again gang,

Meant no disrespect on my last post...been a while since I visitied this thread and this was my first time reading this post in depth...that and being extremely overtired from our wonderful newborn (2 weeks, 2 days today!)...well you get the picture. The first time that I ogled this post I was an extreme noob so I just figured that I'd shaddup.

Glad to hear that you have some valuable time off from work RiK. Happy vacation...or whatever you decide to call it. Can't wait to see the new posts. May the force be with you.

I've been a fan since the original Star Wars films and have viewed the posts on this site, but this is my first time logging in. I just wanted to say that I'm amazed by the amount of work created by fans to keep the original trilogy alive. Nice job!

Hey Rikter -
I know that we've e-mailed several times about your collection. I'll be e-mailing you today with an update. Your patience is appreciated.

RowMan -
I have the old VHS tape of the behind the scenes/special effects of Raiders of the Lost Ark and have been trying to find a way to back it up on DVD for several years now. Forgive my ignorance, but what does PM stand for?

I haven't posted on sites before this one so if there's anything that I should know about posting, please let me know. Thanks!

Nope. The TOD doc was never released to video. I recorded it in the 80's, too (on Betamax no less), but the tape is pretty much shot now. Any chance I can get a copy from you, Silverwook? PM me (That's PRIVATE MESSAGE, Red2 ) if possible. Thanks.
