It’s really not though. I don’t understand why Lucas catches shit for stuffing the thing with unnecessary effects tweaks but when Adywan does it he’s a genius.
This probably isn’t the place to debate (and it’s a debate that’s been had many times before), but Lucas “catches shit” because he suppressed the original versions. This site pretty much exists because of that. If he just made the special edition in addition to the theatricals, no one here would care. As is, we have every right to be angry that the official versions have CGI bullshit.
And that’s not to mention the fact that most of Ady’s changes are simply fixing continuity errors and effects gaffes while Lucas added truly idiotic stuff like a poorly animated dinosaur covering the ENTIRE frame for a solid second or two. So yes, Ady’s version is MUCH better and it’s a preferable alternative to the SE, though obviously something like Harmy’s would be the ideal.
