I think Disney shouldn’t adapt Expanded Universe storylines because it’s just lazy. I think I’d rather see Lawrence Kasdan’s take on Han Solo’s past than an adaptation of an obscure EU novel. I know there’s some good stuff in there, but why would you want to see the same story again?
I would hardly call the Brian Daley Han Solo books obscure. Aside from the Lando books and Splinter of the Mind’s Eye, those were the only non movie adaptation novels out there before 1991.
Daley wrote the expanded scripts for the radio adaptions of the OT. If he was still around, he would probably have been considered to write a sequel.
