Wouldn't it be just as easy to put on a CD? Those recordings were never meant to be played to picture. Many of the pieces are concert versions which in some cases are not in the movie, or in others combine disparate parts of the film. Maybe they'd be good for menu screens, but since DVD space is at a premium, if it were me, I'd devote all the space to getting the best picture and the best sound on one disc and leave the re-recorded albums off.
I remember once reading how Rick McCallum was so intrigued about everything that DVD could do, that he could have a silent version of the movies on DVD to show the importance of sound. I guess he never thought of turning down the volume.
