And so was "The Basketball Diaries" (I'm not sure that's the title of that Leo DiCrapio movie), there was this scene in which he dreamed he was shooting everyone in school, and it got into some discussions when columbine happened.

YOU'RE CORRECT ON THE TITLE.

As was "O", the remake of Shakey's Othello with Mekhi Phifer, Josh Hartnett, and Julia Stiles. That was a shocker of a film to say the least.

Forget faces of death, it's filled with fake footage... "Traces of Death" (1, 2 and 3) are filled with REAL footage of people dying in nasty ways. I remember I watched the first Traces of Death about 6 years ago, and I couldn't sleep for 2 days... Some months later, for some reason, I watched Traces of Death 2, and I couldn't sleep for another day.

Yep, The Exorcist was extremely controversial. And moreso because it was such a wide-reaching release for the movie. That's why Faces of Death was never really controversial... a majority of the world didn't know the films existed. They were pretty hoaky as I recall. I saw one and wasn't fazed at all.

So did I, but she was an innocent, 12/13 year old girl in the early 70s, so I guess it's possible.

So I recomend "Traces of Death 1" for you, Bossk. Watch it alone at night.

Netflix doesn't carry it. So it's likely Blockbuster doesn't either since Netflix has a much larger selection than BB. Dunno where else I would get it.

I rented it on VHS in a small videoplace 7 years ago, so it does exist. I've heard they made DVD editions out of the "movies" (and I use the term "movie" with caution), so, if you ever spot them somewhere, give it a try. I warn you, it took me 2 days before I could get some sleep again, and I'm not easily impressed and/or scared.

I'm not saying it doesn't exist. But I know of plenty of "movies" (again, like you, used very loosely) that are available in other countries that are not available in the States for rental or legal purchase. This is likely to be one.

I'm not sure I wanna to put up money to purchase a copy of it if I don't even know if I'll like it. Know what I mean?

Well you could rent it. And if it's not available in america, you could download it.

That's the problem, I can't rent it. It's not available in stores here. Like I said, Netflix doesn't have it. Blockbuster doesn't (according to their website), nor does Hollywood Video (as per their website). This covers all the area video stores.

The problem here in the States is that these big chain video stores have put nearly all the homegrown, mom-n-pop video stores out of business. These smaller stores are the ones that would likely carry obscure titles like this. Hollywood and Blockbuster have pitiful selections of obscure and foreign titles. That's why I love Netflix. I can usually find obscure and foreign flicks there. But not this one.

As for downloading, I can't unless I want to sit through a dial up connection for hours. I've got broadband at work but they've put a block on all gnutella clients due to overloading of lab computers (I work at a University). I'm afraid to think how long a movie would take to download via dial up.

This is starting to happen over here, too. Until about 4 or 5 years ago, there were almost no huge videostores like blockbuster (there were a few), every videostore was small and run by families and something, really "clerks" like... I used to rent movies in a place run by my former grade school teacher. And you could find some really obscure films such as "Traces of Death", and some weird foreign films. But now they are all being destroyed by those huge videostores filled with crappy movies, with 14 year old attendents with more zips than a post office.

And yes sean wookie I think I am.

"more zips than a post office"? I think you're referring to "zits" in which case the post office reference falls a bit flat. Facial acne, right?
