I HOPE NOT, BUT IT PROBABLY WILL FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY.

It can't run for "Best Documentary" for some reason I forgot right now... It might run for best picture but I don't think it'll win, they won't have Michael Moore step on the microphone ever again... Passion of the Christ might take the award - even though I didn't see The Aviator yet.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Yeah, Alexander has all of the Greek Historians in an uproar: "THERE IS NO PROOF!"
"I don't mind if you don't like my manners. I don't like them myself. They're pretty bad. I grieve over them during the long winter evenings."

Another controversial movie was Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet from back in 1968. Controversial because it featured a topless Juliet a la a 15-year-old Olivia Hussey. And she looked good.

Ironically, her IMDb profile says she provided voices for two SW video games.

Really? I remeber watching this movie when I was about 10, and I didn't see any topless scenes.

Another controversial movie: Life of Brian.

My movie nerd roots are showing: any film directed by Peter Greenaway is ripe with controversy.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Yep, and being the U.S., of course there was flaming for it. But it was fought down because it was an Italian film and not subject to our rules and standards. Thank God.

My version wasn't cut. Nor do I think any version that is currently out on DVD. The scene is so brief and mild compared to movies of today, that I doubt it would even raise eyebrows anymore if it weren't for her age at the time. Now it's considered "art". Go fig.

Ass scene? Are we talking the same Romeo and Juliet? Was that in the Zeffirelli version?
