Some were extremely good (Spider-Man 2, Hellboy), some were fair to middling (Punisher, Blade: Trinity) and then there was Catwoman. The fact of the matter is that comic book movies aren't going away anytime soon.
My attitude on casting is that the best actor should be cast for the job, unknown or name. Ron Perlman OWNED the role of Hellboy, and Wesley Snipes is Blade, brooding seriousness and all. Ben Affleck as Daredevil or Halle Berry as Catwoman? PLEASE! Of course, they weren't exactly helped by lame scripts and bad creative decisions by their respective studios, but Catwoman is supposed to be this unhinged beast of a woman clad head to toe in leather or vinyl; Halle Berry can do unhinged (see Gothika), but she was really let down by the revisions to Catwoman's backstory. Daredevil was a wretched piece of shite that never should have seen the light of day, Affleck or no Affleck. He was wrong for the part, but he was only one problem in a long laundry list of problems for the abomination that is Daredevil.
It boils down to this: if Hollywood wants to do good comic book movies, they should use talent who know what they're doing and take their time, not rush the stuff to market with talent they think will make them money. Anyone can make the safe decision; it's making the right one that breeds success.

The funny thing is that Halle's 38 but still looks like she's in her 20s (good aging or plastic surgery?)

And I agree that Halle's getting too big for her britches. Wonder if the spectacular failure of "Catwoman" has knocked her ego down at all...

Aren't they talking about doing a spin-off for Wolverine and a prequel dealing with the origins of Magneto?
