Star Wars ANH 2004 SE DVD replacement, I made a boo boo! Help!

Ok, I ordered my Star Wars ANH DVD replacement from Fox, but now I’m not sure which is which. One came with the box set, the other was a replacement. Is there anyway to tell which is which? I looked at the directories and the files are dated the say (6/16/04 10:14 pm). Anyone have any other ideas?

Replacements have been available from the start for a skipping error, but nothing is fix in terms of the "deliberate creative decisions" like the green saber.

Why the Caps Lock? You know it implies you are yelling out everything you write.

Yes there was a number you could call for the replacement disc.

So no one knows how to tell them apart ?

Uh does the disc that was supposed to be replaced skips, like ADigitalMan said? If so... just play both discs and see which is which!

Well they both worked for me. But they don't skip on all players.

K, I used this program to compare them: http://www.tgrmn.com/index.htm?camp=goog_oth

I put one on my DVD Rom drive, and one on my DVD-R drive.

Both were identical according to that program!!

Can anyone tell me the time stamp of the good and bad version of the disc that they have?

Maybe they just lied to you and sent an indentical DVD, hoping you wouldn't find out.

If you are not experiencing problems with your DVD, why did you bother to trade it?

Because it was It was free and effortless.

And currently I only have a DVD-Rom drive.

I would try it in a friend's DVD Player to see if either skip at the problem point. I would also look on DVDFile's Forum under the Glitch Disc section to find out more information.

Here's the number to call Fox to ask them about the replacement disc for ANH.

1-888-223-2FOX

Now, in exchange for that, could you put your ANH DVD in your DVD-Rom drive and tell me the time stamp of the files in the Video_TS directory

Also, where's the glitch section in DVD file??

They sent me a replacement copy of ANH even after I had called them back to let them know I had returned it. Guess I got a freebee, not that it's a good freebee!

Class316, there is a serial number on each disc. The serial number should not be identical. You can call "1-888-223-2FOX" and ask them which serial number is which. I can't believe no one else told you this.

Here's the discs I have

First one:

The files in Video_TS is dated 10:14:58 June 16, 2004

s/n L803 9661 22224060 @ R40702-06Y

There's also ANOTHER s/n on the disc that's written in mirror writing, and ends in 7Z

Second one:

The files in Video_TS is dated 10:14:58 June 16, 2004

s/n L803 9661 22224060 @ R40702-06Y

There's also ANOTHER s/n on the disc that's written in mirror writing, and ends in 8Z

conclusions:

The time stamp in the Video_TS are the same

The normally written s/n is the same

The mirror written s/n is the same save one digit (a 7 and an 8)

So I'm stumped!!

Are they the same disc? Cause if they were different why would the time stamp be the same?? If not which is which.

Could it be they sent me the defective disc??

Can someone here post the time stamp of the files in Video_TS of the CORRECTED one?

thanks all in advanced.

On another note, I notice that the back of #1 looks like it's physically in better shape than that of #2.

I know someone already made this point, but there's really no reason why you need to know how one is different from the other. I mean, for all you know, they're BOTH the fixed version, right?

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.
