Speaking of Loading Screens, KOTOR 2 has a definite problem with that.

Even though it uses the game's engine to produce the cutscenes(besides the planet transition and ship based ones) there is a long loading screen in the middle of a cutscene if they are not in the same area as you(which is basically the only time you have cutscenes of the sort).

Just on one cutscene on Nar Shaddaa before you go after one of the bosses I counted four loading screens(of which most of the scenes you loaded an area to see were less than 30 seconds).

That last boss is really damn hard on Halo 2. Fscking one-hit-kill hammer.

XBL is fun to play on though. (My gamertag is: skyman8081 )

I think I'm going to take my copy of Halo 2 and go to game stop or EB and trade it in so I can get Prince of Persia or a DVD or something.

Elementary, my Moose Watson.

I bet you don't have XBOX live.

I've played on XBox live but I really don't enjoy Halo 2.

I can't believe I'm hearing that from someone other than Windexed. I'll agree that it isn't as good as it should be, but to not enjoy it at all...

I dunno what it is about it, the more I play it the less I enjoy it.

I think you have a bad case of Sold out to the Hype syndrome.

No game is beat all and end all. Just have some fun. I'm not getting PoP.WW until it drops in price. Sand of Time is fun. But it's not fifty bucks fun.

Here is a question I pose to anyone...

If you could choose one game that you felt had the most meaningful, immersive, and/or thought provoking story what would it be and why?

I'd say Final Fantasy X, because of the whole Titus is a dream, Sin is Jehct, and the crazy guy wants to destroy the world to end its pain sort of thing.

Halo II has a pretty good story, though definitely not what was expected.

Starcraft also has a top-notch tale behind it, which is rare for RTS games.

MGS 2 had the most thought provoking story in my opinion because it was just so full of postmodernism, its just a majority of American audiences didn't get it is because it wasn't supposed to make sense(in simple terms) and also because it was drawing heavily on the works of Japanese postmodernists that most of us wouldn't have read.

There is a great essay on this topic here.

The key words here being "Japanese" and "post-modern"...

Which means it's gonna be flippin' crazy no matter which way you cut it.

I think I'm going to read some of the stuff that Kojima based the craziness that was MGS2 on so that I can finally understand just what the hell he was saying.

Can you give me a breif-as-possible synopsis of the surface plot--without going into the strangeness?

Well, the first part of the game, the "Tanker" chapter chronicles the events after Solid Snake, Otacon, and their organization, Philanthropy, obtain classified information that a new prototype of Metal Gear is being transported under cover of an oil tanker to an unknown destination. Armed, Snake infiltrates the tanker to keep it from falling into the wrong hands, but something goes wrong. Russian terrorists board the tanker while all of the marines are in the hold. Snake sneaks to the hold. He watches as the Commander of the Terrorists(Gurlukovich) tries to steal Metal Gear Ray but Revolver Ocelot(with Liquid Snake's arm) double-crosses him and steals is for "The Patriots." The tanker sinks, ocelot gets away, Snake is presumed dead.

You're telling me you haven't even played it and you hate it with a passion?

I played the first one on the GC, but I got so frustrated by the camera and immortal guards that I quit before "Metal Gear" was ever explained.

Edit: also, I just finally beat the first phase of the final Sin battle in Final Fantasy X. I can't believe I thought it was so hard a few months ago.

There's too much else to play and too little time off of school to play things that arent' fun.
