I heard about this on the Today show this morning and it blew my mind. Not just because of the senselessness of the violence, but because I was once such a Dimebag fan. Don't know Damageplan at all, but I knew the Pantera of old and saw them live here in Chicago at the Aragon Ballroom (or "Brawlroom" as many Chicagoans lovingly refer to it). Back in the day when he was Diamond Darrell. Ah, the Vulgar Display of Power tour. Damn, that man can shred. He will be missed. And it's a shame the cop shot the gunman dead. He would have been torn to bits by fans in the crowd if they had stopped him themselves.
