I have found that the best way to get around that is to become smarter than your teacher. Nothing like embarrassing a teacher by proving them wrong.

But if you keep a paper trail, then you're safe. My teachers (the ones that I did this to anyway) were never able to do anything about it.

Yeah, Santa himself is older than coke, but the current design of Santa is Coke's. If you look at the older pictures he may or may not be red, and definitely doesn't have all the white trim and stuff.

The older pictures I've seen (mostly European in background) show the big guy in a deep red coat (almost maroon or burgundy) with trim that uses more natural colors like forest green and the like. I like the old idea of Santa better than the U.S.ified, over-corporatized version.

This whole Santa riff has got me thinking about Dana Carvey's Church Lady skit on Santa Claus. Anyone else seen it?

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I'm sure I have but it's been a helluva long time since I've seen Church Lady. Is this the whole Santa = Satan bit?

Well, will you look at that? If you take the "N" in "SANTA" and just move it to the end like this, you get... oh, who could it be... could it be "SATAN"?

I liked to yell at teachers with no reason. Specially when they were NOT my teachers.

About the Satan, thing... let's ponder for a moment. Here we have a name, just a random name, let's say uh... George Lucas. So, we take the last name, Lucas, and invert it. We have Sacul. Now we change the letters into numbers, we have 19-1-3-21-12. Now, we gather the first number with the second, the third with the fourth, we have 191-321-12. Let's focus on the two last numbers. 321 plus 12 = 333. 333 times two... 666! So... I belive George Lucas might be... I don't know... maybe... SATAN?!

If you have the time to sit around and figure that out, then no wonder you hate Christmas so much.

I can do this in a few seconds. Whenever I was in a long road trip or aboard a plane I used look at numbers and number sequences around me, and try to change them into other numbers by adding subtracting, multiplying or dividing. I usually work on other cities, and when I'm waiting for the plane (and my possible death, I'm scared of planes), I try to add the flight numbers and do math with them so I get the number 13.

*suddenly sirens are heard....getting closer and closer..... a van pulls up next to the thread. Six rather tough looking elves get out of the van, they are carrying billy clubs and hand cuffs and they have Coke badges. They enter the thread and approach Ric....one of them says "Ric you are suspected of saying questionable things about Santa and of being an enemy of Christmas. I'm sorry but you will have to come with us to the North Pole for questioning!" Ric tries to resist but is hit repeatly about the head by the six elves with their billy clubs, and is cuffed and dragged out of the thread. Just before the last elf leaves the thread he turns and faces everyone else and says "stop the negative talk about Santa and Christmas or else!" and then leaves.*

see what can happen when one messes with the old fat man?

I was actually thinking of the "visualization" sequences with John Nash (Russell Crowe) in A Beautiful Mind.
