To tell you the truth, I've never liked Spyro.

Crash Bandicoot was the only game I had for my PSX for like the first year I had it, so I'm a little partial to it.

For a change of pace:

What ideas would you like to see in the next GTA game? Online play, maybe?

What about the setting? I think GTA: 2049 would be pretty cool.

Or GTA: Galactic City...

Online play for GTA isn't a very good idea, there is just no way for it to function and be fun that way (Multi-Theft Auto Vice-City PC mod case-in-point)

The problem with that analysis is that Vice City was specifically designed as a single player game. Throwing in a multiplayer component there wasn't the best idea ever. But if there was an MMO GTA, designed around the concept of gang wars, it could be a blast. Rockstar knows what they are doing.

Have you played two player mode in San Andreas? It proves that Multiplayer in GTA can work. But that mode is severly limited by having a single screen. Online is the only way GTA multiplayer could truly be worthwhile.

Still, there is just too much area for people to play in is what I was getting at.

"Gang Wars" would invovle many many people. I'm sure a Next Gen Console could handle 100 real people plus NPCs if the graphics weren't a whole lot better than the current GTAs.

And the area wouldn't have to be the size of San Andreas, either.

I guess thats true, but I'm still not fond of the idea.

mmorpgs are something that are best left to the PC/MAC imo, just like RTS and to a point FPS. It, at this point doesnt seem plausable for it to be on a console, unless they become extremely computer like in the next gen. I think that a GTA MMORPG spin off would most certainly work, and could start a new "brand" of mmorpg, getting away from the scifi/fantasy driven games of today. I think that it could be a huge success, with all sorts of "rated M" content to drive the game, but i just dont see that happening on a PS# or xbox.

edit: and i dont forsee GTA going futuristic anytime soon, i would imagine there next move would be either overseas, or two a different decade again. GTA: Rio desionaire, GTA: Hong Kong, GTA: Moscow, GTA: Paris, GTA:London, are some that come to mind off hand as possible spin offs. If you are talking time periods these all jump to the front of my thinking GTA:1920' (mafia was big, p[rohibition was around, enough old cars, and guns to go around.) GTA 1970's(disco, and cocaine). They still have more than enough material to work with to keep cranking out games...

Galactic Battlegrounds? The RTS?

I've been meaning to pick that up as well. But I would not get it for the online play, I've heard the online play sucks and your better off playing against bots.

The bots are really stupid, and I can't imagine that offline play would be more fun that online.

I have heared, however, that there is some lag online, so maybe that's what you mean. (Can't test anything, since I don't have Xbox Live)

MY BAD. I MEANT BATTLEFRONT.

I played the demo for that, the one that shipped with the Official DVD's. Not too shabby, I consider it to be "Battlefeild: A long time ago" because it plays exactly like Battlefeild: 1942. Which isn't exactly a bad thing.

I did lose in the demo, because I kept shooting Ewoks (The demo level is on Endor). I wish I didn't suck so bad at The Star Wars Trilogy Arcade Game. But, I loved Rogue Squadron and SotE for my old N64. (which still works).

But, Halo 2 has been sucking my life up, a lot.

I've been playing Half Life 2 for uh... about 10 hours now. I'm almost at the end of it, but I decided to stop playing for a while. My wrists hurt badly, and I was starting to talk back to the characters, which is not a good sign. I'll get back to it another time.

But hell, that's the best game I've ever played in my life... It's absolutely perfect.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I always thought a GTA: Moscow would be cool. Anyway, if I had my say about what the next GTA would be like? I personally think that bigger isn't necessarily better. I'd spend most of the resources refining the game engine, instead of making the landcapes bigger. Better graphics and controls, and give the player more options, while making sure those options work smoothly. Don't get me wrong, I like the GTA games as much as the next guy, but let's be honest - the graphics and gameplay aren't exemplary.

San Andreas actually fixes many of the series' problems, inproving targeting and melee fighting, the ability to climb, implemnetin a stealth mode, fixing the airplane controls, giving the gameplay ridiculous variety.

SA is a monumental improvment over Vice City.

You forgot that pedestrians don't tend to perpetually run into walls anymore and that you can finally swim. It's an amazing game on all levels, except that I get the feeling it'll take me forever to unlock the entire map, which is so far the only negative. I'm ready to run into the desert and grab a katana, but when I made landfall with a boat, I got that stupid four-star wanted level and was lucky to survive to make it back to my save point.

It doesn't take terribly long to unlock the whole map, most of the missions that aren't directly related to the main quest you can skip and still unlock the map, it probably only took me around 8 hours of just playing the missions to unlock the whole thing.

The stupid thing is that you even get wanted for being there.

If you put in the Jetpack cheat (< > R1 R2 L1 L2 up down < > you can fly to the top of the Emrald Isle hotel in Las Venturas, get the parachute and jump off.

There's also a Parachute at the top of the tallest building n Los Santos (it is octagonal and light pink.) You can get to the top easily by walking in the front door.
