Hold on a second. What equipment, exactly, are you using? Is your LD player PAL? Is your VCR PAL?
If they aren't both PAL, I think you are going to have some problems. Furthermore, IF you could record a PAL signal on an NTSC VCR, it's going to record the signal as NSTC, which is 30fps interlaced. It's basically going to look like crap. If you want to record the LD signal, your best best is to capture it on the computer at its native rate, and make any necessary adjustments digitally.
