Aaaw shhhhh.... !

Don't worry, V3 is totally fine and you shouldn't kick yourself for seeing it. Besides, Episodes II and III won't be coming immediately. If you've already downloaded V3, don't wait for V4. If you like it, just make a point to snag V4 at some point for keeps.

Oh yeah no stress. I'm not kicking myself or anything but I'm excited for v4 because they may become my go to viewing for the PT.

Just so you know, you're about 250mb over BD25 capacity I think. :D

Author

I hope not. BD25 holds 25GB, and the full folder is 24.14GB on my Mac which reports file size in base ten. If you're right, one could just remove the alternate audio stream and be good to go.

I think it might have to do with the difference in M2TS overhead, but I'm not sure. Yep, removing an audio track is a good way to go.

Just finished watching. Very nice, as usual. Quite seamless as far as I could tell. The only deleted scene that stuck out was the probe droid one. Just seems to be lower quality or have funkier color.

For any newcomers who are trying to burn this to BD using tsmuxer, make sure you select "Do not change SEI and VUI data".

Do you know exactly what the file size cutoff is for taking an MKV and authoring a BD25 disc? Looks like COD was a bit big, but I'd like to keep 2 and 3 under since there's no alternate audio to exclude! I would not do this if they didn't already happen to be so close to 25GB at max bit rate anyway; it's worth it to lower the bit rate insignificantly if they'll fit into the disk. If it were closer to 30GB, I'd just encode at max settings.

I'm not sure. I also don't know if the inflation would be strictly a MKV:M2TS ratio, and I don't know if audio/video tracks have different impacts on the end size.

I've fought with it before, just going from m4v exported from premiere, and then muxing to m2ts. Thought I had calculated everything correctly, but M2TS files are just bloated. I think all containers add a bit, but MKV fares much better.

I couldn't find any solid info on calculating the overhead, so I just did it empirically and, after a few wasted encodings, ended up with an approximate ratio for the project.

Hi, I'm not real clear on where to get V4. Not sure what 'Spleen means and the FE org version seems to be the original V1 release that is dated Jan of 2014.

Also want to say from what i read in your notes the edits sound amazing.

The admin hasn't yet updated the listing for V4, but FanEdit.info is the place. FE.org does not host download links for the edits they list, but the .info is an unaffiliated site where many of them are available.

Also, Myspleen is a private bittorrent tracker where some of these odd things can be found.

Thanks. I just downloaded the rar from FEinfo and the torrents fail to load to Utorrent.

Do i have to use the DLCs? I tried the Mega links in the DLCs and they've been removed.

Hey Hal 9000,

I'm a Big Fan of your edits. I saw that you said that DrDre recently up-scaled the Prequel Deleted Scenes and that you used them to replace your old V3 deleted scenes in your V4 edit. I'm currently working on a Prequel Trilogy Edit in my spare time and I'd love to have those Up-scaled deleted scenes so I can utilize them. Is it possible you can point me to where you got them. Thanks!

I haven't got AOTC's deleted scenes yet, but I plan to upload a torrent of them before this is over. I'd use a proxy rip of them in the meantime.

COD has not yet been updated by the admin of .info, so those links will not work because I had to delete v3 to make room for v4 on Mega. Check back later and look at the date next to the listing. I'm not sure why the torrents would give you trouble, other than perhaps not being well seeded.

I just got word: COD's listing has been updated for V4 at FanEdit.info.

EDIT: Remember, if JDownloader prompts you for a password, extract the archives in your filesystem rather than inside JDownloader.

The link on FanEdit on has the DVD5 file. Is there no .mkv?

my bad, all the files are included in the one link. I expected a separate link for each format.

Since I just watched v3 I'm not going to rewatch it just yet but I glanced at it and the deleted scenes are much better for sure! At least on my computer screen, we'll have to see how it is stretched out on my home theater.

And I'm very excited how you added the "jam the doors!" scene :)

BTW this is final right? I can burn a bluray without fear?

I just muxed the .mkv into an .iso but it was just to big to write with imgburn.

Image Size 12,348,128 Sectors (24,117MB)

Disc Size 12,219,392 (23,866 MB)

I tried to overburn but it ended up failing.

Yeah, evidently having the file fit on a BD25 doesn't mean it'll necessarily fit when muxed to the right format. However, we found that omitting the alternate audio track allowed it to fit.

 Good idea.

Question though, when I go to mux it I see 2 track for Audio that are in 5.1 and in ENG. I'm assuming one may be for Hearing Impaired but how can I tell which to take out?

The second track merely removed the added music over the pod race, for those that prefer it without.

 That did it. Thanks!

Thanks for this amazing project. I am so excited to watch this through with my boys. 😃

I’m new to fan edits… I stumbled upon Harmy’s DE of the OT a couple weeks ago and got so excited, I decided I’d watch through the whole series with my family, leading up to the release of the new movie. This is my boys’ first time seeing the movies. We just finished ESB, and we’ll probably watch RotJ this weekend, and then be ready for Ep1 next week.

After reading several descriptions and reviews, I feel pretty confident that your PT edit is set we’re going to watch, because your goals make the most sense to me.

That being said, would it be possible for you to provide the checksum of the latest revisions of each file for each movie on the three original posts? I’m trying to track down torrents for all of them, but don’t have access to MySpleen, so making sure I am downloading the latest revision isn’t always easy, especially since the latest version number isn’t even clear on your first posts. Simply searching for a checksum would be much simpler and more accurate.

Also, once you have your final versions of each movie are done and “set,” would a subtitle project be feasible? Is that something that any fan edits have?

Nevertheless, thanks to you, Harmy, and all the others here that are doing this amazing work, I can honestly say I haven’t been this excited about Star Wars since May 19, 1999, the day I went to see Ep1 in the theater (and found myself sorely disappointed). Thank you so much!
