You guys are in for a real treat once the season premiere airs....

That treat wouldn't happen to be $1000000, would it? I'd certainly watch the premiere if that's the case.

Wonder what was going on in Ahsoka's head there at the end of the premiere.  Great episode, solid start to the season.  Seems like we probably won't see Vader again for a bit though.

I loved the premiere, great stuff.  I wish Ashoka had known more clearly who Vader was.  It looks like Vader did and had zero emotion about the matter which was great.

It seems as though she may know, but is keeping it to herself. Hard to tell.

It's better that they keep it ambiguous, or have her not know, though. Obviously can't have knowledge of Vader's identity being discussed at the rebel water cooler. Hopefully they'll have a good confrontation before killing off her character at some point in the series.

Wow, what a solid Season premiere!  Was amazed at how Filoni &  Co. were able to make Vader so intimidating that his presence alone while confronting our protagonists actually gave me goosebumps.  The way he deflected Sabine's blasts back at her, the way he single-handedly dispatched the entire A Wing squadron etc.  Loved every single minute.

Hoping along the way they get to meet Han and Chewie.  They've already met Lando so maybe he'll lose the Falcon to him later in the series.  Maybe Lando brags about acquiring this new ship only to lose it in moments lol.

Well this video is depressing...

Return of the Clones

Was the 1st series setup to fool OT fans into thinking this was going to be almost entirely a wonderful OT based show?... then when we're really hooked, start slathering on the prequel garbage in the 2nd series :-(

You somehow missed all the prequel/TCW refs in the first season?

I have no issues with some clones being around. There had to be a few that refused/resisted Order 66.

The show isn't going to automatically suck if they reference the prequels just because you hate them. ;)

Where were you in '77?

I prefer Captain Rex to Ashoka so I mind this less. It does seem unnecessary but at the same time it's uncharted territory. We've never seen old clones and we've never found out what happened to the clones anyway. Should be interesting.

The Clone Wars series was the best thing to come out of the PT. So I actually don't mind some of the elements from that appearing in Rebels.

I didn't miss the prequel refs, god no (Well except probably the TCW refs because I hardly watched that, so I wouldn't know?) but I don't remember there being very many at all. When they were there, it was little things in passing not the main focus.

I've got the S1 Blu-Ray arriving on wednesday so I rewatch it then and see.

It's not that. I just liked that I could (mostly) enjoy Rebels without being reminded that the PT existed.

Partly this was because it was generally about a team of all new characters having adventures on their own without the larger mythology that had gone a bot off the rails since 1999. Which is another reason why I'm less than excited about returning "fan favourite" characters from other TV shows I don't care about, taking focus away from the interesting little Ghost family.

If from S2 onwards the story is gonna center heavily on Ahsoka (Who I couldn't care less about) and a bunch of Clones (Who I couldn't care less about) and not so much on the new characters who I've grown to love then this show is going in the exact wrong direction from what made me enjoy it in the first place.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic without having seen the 2nd series but I was just going on the trailers/previews we've seen so far.

Watched all of Rebels this week. I really enjoy it. It's Clone Wars mixed with the OT mixed with Firefly.

I do wonder how they're going to end it eventually, because having two fully trained Jedi and a kid with 5 years experience on Luke would probably come up in conversations during the OT. ;-)

GHOST BEN : That boy is our last hope.

YODA : No there are two maybe three others... maybe more... I haven't a clue to be honest I'm just guessing here.

VADER : If he could be turned, he could become a powerful ally.

PALPATINE : Y.....nah, it's too risky. That other kid is more open to suggestion and 'Skywalker's 'apprentice... do we really have keep talking about yourself like this on the phone... is the line tapped or something? ...whatever anyway She's really quite strong and there's the other one and possibly a steam punk one living in a cloud so just kill this Luke kid. I've enough of the whiny brat gene.

YODA : When gone am I the last...

LUKE : of the Jedi I will be?

YODA : amongst the last of a reasonable number, In fact you'd better leave training Leia to one of the other living Jedi masters.

LUKE : Leia? What! What the..?

YODA: She's a Jedi too, well she could be one day, if she was trained properly she is a bit old.

LUKE : The Force runs strong in my family, my father has it... I have it... maybe if I got Leia knocked up we'd have a super Jedi or something?

YODA : Not advisable.

Do the new inquisitors have to have the same sort of saber as the season 1 inquisitor? Season 1 inquisitor's saber didn't help him in the end and sabestaffs have long worn out their welcome.

No, but they're "kewl", so they have to stay regardless of how stupid they actually look and perform.

The 2nd TFA teaser is included on the Rebels Blu-Ray. Looks great in full not-compressed-for-streaming HD :-)

TARKIN : Their fire has gone out of the universe. You, my friend, are all that's left of their religion.

VADER : Yeah... Well strictly speaking though Sith Lords aren't Jedi we do share the same religious Credo just different perspectives on how to use it so The Emperor is also a believer and then there's all those Inquisitors and the Dathomir witches... they believe in the Force and use it's power and there must be dozens of Jedi we missed still out there hiding swamps Etc. And you still hear people say May the Force Be With You, particularly after someone sneezes so... it's not we all went to the Dawkins side or anything.

TARKIN : What's a Dawkins?

VADER : Evolutionary biologist from the future, he married a time traveler.

TARKIN: They believe in evolution in the future?

VADER: Yeah I know...it's kind of quaint, they must have gone through some kind of dark age or something.

You're not the first to spot the Firefly vibe.

My brother and I say it's the animated version of our old RPG sessions.  Everyone is kind of on the fringes of the Star Wars story, you can't run into Luke, there's a lot of inexplicable almost-Jedi.  At least they haven't gone to Tatooine.  (Yet.)

It's my favorite Star Wars since 1980.  And it's the coolest Vader has been ever.

They're not going to show two weeks of The Siege of Lothal again, are they?

I suppose more Vader was probably too much to hope for.  BUT HE WAS SO AWESOME!

Also: Now with 100% more Clancy Brown!
