Thanks. My initial MPEG looks okay, but whiel I've gotten rid of the small specks, I'm tempted to run the AVI through the MSI smoother (noise remover?) because there are some large blankets of discoloration and changing colors that would be difficult to really address properly. I'll try to get some screenshots available, but the real difference is in the video - it's difficult for me to watch ISMOMIX's version (the only one I have on DVD) because of the glitches and such. This is not to say his transfer is flawed, since my LD's suffer the same problems. It's just that after spending 2 months removing all that crap, it really sticks out to me now. I may create some "before/after" videos of the worst parts just to illustrate the difference.
Oh, and apparently VirtualDub is better at pointing out some of these glitches than Combustion. I've apparently missed a few, and so am using the programs concurrently for the second wave. (Hey, might as well finish the clean-up job.)
