At FE, I have the ability to restore original posts that have been deleted.  Hopefully the new site will have it as well.

There are things like privacy related concerns that might come up later. Those are probably rare and could be dealt with by a mod.

Leaving the first post open to editing I guess would be the main thing. With project threads the first post should be continually updated.

I've been inactive for too long. I'm glad to see this is what I was missing.
