That "blue-skinned alien" was a GREAT MAN.

Anyway, has anyone brought up yet how every era with stories set in it over the span of thousands and thousands of years seems to have an Empire analogue and a Republic analogue, complete with similar logos? Because I really hate that.

This is one of the things that I hate most about the EU. The Republic becomes the Empire, so why in the world does the Republic's enemy 3600 years before the movies have the Empire's logo?

I forgot to mention that I stopped following the Old Republic period when TOR came out. I thought it was a load of Shite. I hate the Sith Empire and its impressively lame Emperor.

I hate R.A. Salvatore's ponderous space battles. Einstein or Newton would be hard pressed to calculate which fighter is doing what half the time.

EDIT - To be clear, he's a great writer overall.

Clones having the same Force-sensitivity as their templates. If Force-sensitivity can be cloned, why didn't Palpatine clone Vader?

That has to be the worst plot hole in the EU.

I've always assumed Palpatine wants Vader to remain crippled so he can never become powerful enough to rival him.

Of course, this doesn't mesh with the PT at all.

[JEDIT]

I misread darklordoftech's post above. I thought it was about using cloned body parts to repair Vader's damaged body, not creating independant clones.

That brings up the question of why Vader didn't clone new body parts himself.

In that case, why does Palpatine want to replace Vader with Luke?

Perhaps Vader's become too treacherous and ambitious over the years, so Palpatine wants to replace him with someone who's younger and more conditionable.

Because Vader was all about the black suit and sinister music, yet Luke had the dance moves and greater potential?

Revan and most of the plot of KOTOR.

Malak as a villain and as a character.

A character nobody likes was responsible for the Old Jedi becoming the PT Jedi.

Atris from KOTOR II. She put fourth the idea of one student per master... Emotional suppression. And no romance/marriage.

This happened after the Exar Kun stuff in TOTJ.

And it went through.

Ah, I didn't realize you were still talking about KOTOR with that part. I thought you were suggesting that there was a character that influenced the actual writing of the prequels.

"I dislike her already!"

It's worse. Atris fell to the dark side at some point without admitting it to herself. So the Jedi are more or less following the code of a traitor.

And none of the exile's students thought that might be worth considering while they were busy rebuilding the order. No future Jedi did either apparently.

I guess it's good to have someone to blame for the PT Jedi.

It's also stupid because of how utterly contrived it is.

Probably when Han was deemed force sensitive because he wielded Luke's saber in ESB. Its just a laser sword.

Also bringing back Palpatine's life force into a new being or whatever because you ran out of decent antagonists.

"You, I suppose you're programmed for etiquette and protocol."

"Protocol? Why its my primary function, sir!"

"I have no need for a protocol droid."
