Are there plans to release a full frame open matte version of this print? I know that (from what I read) the CGI shots are hard matted to a widescreen ratio but I would like to see how the film looks in full open matte, if only for archival purposes.

The matted widescreen ratio is taller than 1.78:1. More like 1.72:1. I read somewhere that because European screens are mostly 1.66:1, spherical movies were left full aperture and the VFX matted to a ratio slightly taller than 1.78:1, so that 1.85:1 movies could be projected with a taller 1.66:1 frame. So, in all likelihood, many European theatres projected JP in 1.66:1. The presence of additional vertical information certainly helped in that regard. I know for a fact that The terminator (1984) was similarly projected 1.66:1 on EU screens.  So, having the Full uncropped Jurassic Park scan downrezzed to 1080p would be a treat to say the least! I have requested the guys who have the prores file to give us a chance to see it as it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, because in all likelihood none of us may ever get our hands on a theatrical print of the movie in the future, forget getting a 4K scan done. Where I live, these services are not available; rare prints aren't sold or collected. Here the mantra is "go with the flow".

I can understand if forum members or owners of the scan get frustrated at me asking for the version, but I love JP a lot not to ask for it. I do want to see the entire frame, boom microphones, frame edges and all. It can be a special version giving us lots of first hand visuals regarding how a film is shot. And the open matte version will allow other members, including myself to create our own respective fan editions.

Sorry, if I've annoyed others by my posts. I apologise for that.
