Alright, since we're all writing our own versions of the prequels, I thought I just bring this up. Obviously, we got our own different ideas for characters.
Let's take Obi-Wan and Anakin. We've all seen the brash, headstrong, and confident Anakin Skywalker along with a more cautious Obi-Wan Kenobi. This is not only the actual PT but in other PT rewrites. Certain stories just follow the basic idea with small changes here and there, or do something completely different, or something in the middle, like Khyron42's The Fall, which probably has my favorite interpretation of Obi-Wan (apologies to DuracellEnergizer and CWBorne).
Now, I'm not saying it's a bad thing (heck I'm using that in my version). I'm just wandering about different interpretations of certain SW characters you will use in your PT rewrites.
Which interpretation that you've seen is more unique from others? What about your interpretation of certain characters make them distinct from the rest? And it can include anyone (from cartoons, comics, novels, etc.): Bail Organa, Amidala, the Sith, the Jedi, the Jensaarai, anyone!

Screw lightsabers, I’ll stick with regular swords. At least they won’t blow up in my face like this franchise has.
In my vision of the PT I've imagined Anakin as an even darker version of Bruce Wayne/Batman. He witnesses the murder of his father at the hands of a criminal. This event leaves a scar upon his soul which never heals. Instead of being motivated by justice for the helpless and the innocent Anakin is motivated more by retribution against the guilty.

Sith: There'd only be one "Dark Lord of the Sith" at a time, and in the OT era that one Dark Lord would be Vader. The Dark Lords would have armor that slowly evolves into Vader's armor.
Jedi: They wouldn't have a ban on attachments (the attachment ban seems to be something that Lucas created because he wanted a forbidden romance. Their uniform would be what Luke wears in ROTJ.
Although he was only introduced and killed off in TPM, I think there is an interesting conceptual direction that a writer can take the character of Qui-Gon Jinn. Normally I don't like using elements of the Lucas PT in my brainstormings, but he comes the closest to being interesting out of all the Lucas PT's characters. My idea for an alternative Qui-Gon is called "Templar Jinn".
He's an elder Jedi who becomes obsessed with rooting out and exterminating the Dark Side of the Force. He accuses the rest of the Jedi Knights of being complacent in their quest to bring peace to the galaxy, primarily because he sensed the hand of the Dark Side in the events of the Clone Wars (which would be a completely separate event from the rise of the Empire in my timeline). He goes rogue, a light side fundamentalist, basically.
Anakin Skywalker goes on a quest to find and capture Templar Jinn before he can further tarnish the name of the Jedi Order. But when Anakin gets there Templar Jinn refuses to be taken in again and they have a lightsaber duel. It is this lightsaber duel which irrevocably starts Anakin down the path to becoming Vader. After a lengthy fight, Anakin cuts off Jinn's arm.
The mortally wounded Jinn lays upon Anakin a revelation which is just as mindblowing as the I-am-your-father thing that Vader said to Luke in ESB. I'm still trying to figure out just what this revelation might be, but it has to be something that completely sours Anakin's opinion of the Jedi. Then Anakin executes the maimed Templar Jinn. I envision this fight being the climax of Episode II.
Lightsaber colors: I'd either give each Jedi their own color or I'd give them all blue.
Maybe Anakin takes on the name "Darth Vader" before he becomes famous throughout the galaxy. This would explain why it seems to be public knowledge that Vader was Obi-Wan's apprentice but it isn't public knowledge that Vader = Anakin.
