Does a list of the original 1st petition signers exist from many years ago?

I was an original petition signer many years ago, and was just curious on what date I signed that, it's cool to be able to see the date and comments of the new signers on the new petition.  I looked but couldn't find it.  Many thanks!

Y'know, the fact that it's gotten almost 7900 sigs and counting is at least somewhat heartening, but the fact that it's taken almost six years makes it pretty unsurprising that we've heard next to nothing on the subject from lfl.

I like how people are still signing and leaving comments. With any luck, the right person at lucasfilm will read them and pass it along to whomever will eventually be in charge of a restoration.

The new regime aren't idiots. The hiring of Kasdan and moreso Rian Johnson is proof to me that someone is reading people's online comments. I heard a story the other day that Spielberg of all people is actually a big reader of the geek sites and sometimes even has to be pulled away from the computer by his assistants.

So anything's possible.

By comparison, do we know how many sigs - and over what span of time - the original OOT on dvd petition recieved way back whenever?

I either seen it on here or another website, but apparently there were millions (like 10 million) signatures before Lucas and Lucas Film decided to give us the 2006 bonus DVD (GOUT). But I can’t remember.

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

Ah, the threads that finally get noticed and bumped after a forum migration.

Ten million? Are you sure?

I remember hearing that 80,000 (or was it only 20,000?) signatures figure being tossed about, but maybe that was just over a certain amount of time after the petition’s creation in order to emphasize the response it got. I’d have to go back and watch Jay’s interview in The People vs George Lucas, if it’s still up on Netflix.

It may very well have gotten to ten million by May of 2006. Maybe it even kept growing after that. After all, we never actually got the unaltered trilogy on dvd in actual dvd quality. Although by that point the HD disc formats were out and that was the next frontier.

When was the petition created anyway? 2002?

The petition went live in March 2003. It received ~80,000 signatures if I remember correctly.

Wow I was way off, why was I thinking 10 million. Anyways, that petition did way better then the one that was from 2009 (recently taken down). ~80,000 is a very good number.
