I think the film cans were the other two movies given to Mike by Lucasfilm with their blessing for him to have at them.  After he is done restoring all three films, they will graciously take his fine work and release them for all to enjoy.  That is my New Hope.

"Sheep Cream Sandwich" was my famous finishing wrestling move in high school. It's when I would be pinned to the ground and accidentally ejaculate, causing my opponent to immediately jump up and surrender. I made it to States my Junior and Senior years using that maneuver exclusively.

I don't think pictures of otters lusting over ice cream sammiches is NSFW...unless you work with particularly conservative otters?

I'd buy a version of Frames based on this restoration!

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Mike did you ever make a comparison of your restored crawl and the blu-ray?, if not it would be interesting to see :)

As some of you have noted, there is a French article about Legacy:

http://www.hdnumerique.com/actualite/articles/14774-star-wars-un-nouvel-espoir-la-version-non-retouchee-restauree-en-4k.html

They were probably inspired by a thread I started on theforce.net, since they used one of the color corrected frames I posted there. Anyway, if your interested, you can check out the thread:

http://boards.theforce.net/threads/star-wars-legacy-edition-restoration-of-the-1977-original-star-wars.50032868/

Mike has also posted there, and had some interesting discussions with theforce.net members, many who support him, but there are of course also the SE crowd who will defend George Lucas till their last breath...

Holy fuck, that TFN-thread is a painful read...

Yeah totally, what do you expect from TFN though?

Speaking of wretched hives...

edit: Oh god, I actually read that thread. I don't see why you felt the need to subject yourself to those people, Dre. A screenshot comparison where the blu-ray had literally no color except for blue present in the shot, and some kiddo exclaims that it looks "WAY WAY WAY better!" :(

I can confirm it.  I am (mostly) out of the country between now and the end of Feb. on a very important gig, career-wise, but Legacy came in on schedule.  When I get back, it's to the business of laying it all out on the website (there will be a mouse-over before/after/otherversions thing where you can scroll through every shot of the film), plus more videos and a documentary in progress.  But that'll be awhile because of some...  well, there's more to the story, yet.  :)
