This edit sounds like the best of both worlds, keeping the good elements of the Special Editions whilst removing the bad. I have tried googling around for a torrent link to download it (I do own the blu ray source) and if anyone can help with a PM then that would be really appreciated. I also have to ask - does a semi-despecialized edition exist yet for ESB or ROTJ?
