Without last names given to some of them, it's just assumed they are related (unless I've missed a leak or announcement).

I'd like unrelated characters as well. However, considering we're just coming out of 15 years of indiscriminate story shrinking, a single familial relation is at least a step in the right direction.

Kylo Ren is apparently related to someone, too. There was a rumor last year (?) that he is the son of Han and Leia.

I've also heard someone say that, since we know this is at least partially a name he made for himself later in life, it is possible that Kylo = sKYwalker + soLO. Little bit of a stretch, but possible.
