so I'm at D23 (disney's convention) and this morning George Lucas was among those honoured as "disney legends". During his acceptance speech he stated "not many people know this, but goofy was the inspiration for JarJar Binks."
Just thought i'd put this out there...
So, he's obliquely implying that TPM is just as good as A Goofy Movie, one of my all-time favourite movies of all time?
Makes sense, in a George Lucas sort of way.
Only Goofy wasn't manipulated into putting a sith lord into power, ultimately causing the deaths of billions across the galaxy. ;)

I always thought Goofy was the bigger draw in the original cartoons....
