I've been considering getting WeTransfer plus. You can transfer up to 10GB at a time and keep it stored online indefinitely. That's an easy way of sending files off to people when they need it.
I have two gripes about that -
1. The cost of the bandwidth
I've been working in the film industry for a while now and get private clients so having a WeTransfer Plus account would benefit me. Still, a fifth of my online space would be limited by this being on there. So of that $10 a month, $2 of it every month would go to storing this online.
Solution
That being said, if people send a dollar or two when they download it, that would pay to keep the file online. Still, it could come off as super sketchy and falls into grey area, regardless of the fact that I would be making $0.
Many of you know my position on receiving donations for this Fan Project (or any project for that matter) so I'll give it some thought.
2. Legality of file sharing
I don't wanna get sued lol
Solution A
I'd need people to PM me a photograph of their Star Wars DVDs/Blurays and a typed out "I am confirming that I do, in fact, legally own a copy of the Star Wars movies on DVD/BluRay/Digital Download".
Solution B
Another way I could go about this in future releases, is to include audio commentary as an educational "digital workshop". Using copyrighted material for educational purposes can actually prevent lawsuits from having any ground.
