I have all of the "SPIDER" DVD's now including the "BEST STAR WARS DVD" and I will be watching them this weekend so I have not posted any CONCRETE FACTS just preliminary information.

BUT From the quick look I had at them.... They don't look half bad.

No you do not have all the Spider DVDs I reedited "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" using the real DVDs. And when I make my Dual Layer set you wont have those to. You have what I sent you.

- You sent me?? WHAT the hell are you talking about!???

These were sent to my by another member here on the forums FOR FREE I might add - You made these sound so GREAT that ONE person here on these forums actually bought them for $20 from you and you also took 17 days to get them to him on top of all the emails that he forwarded me.

But who cares about that?

This is THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY website NOT the "Look at my edits I made using the DVD's" website and this thread is called "ORIGINAL TRILOGY PRESERVATION" so take your hack job warez to the other thread thats titled General Star Wars Discussion.

Dig?

I'd be more than happy to type up a full review should I be the "winner". This set does sound intriguing.

Rikter you know you have to grow up your a baby. The reason I charge is simple I have to rip the DVDa then burn them then stand in line at the post office. Im not doing this for free. second I do not care if people downlaod this et for free. I glad they will be for free. But if some want me to get off my ass its $20.00 and the reason it took long is that I want to send out a better set. I talk about this on my post that is state here. I had a set I was going to send out but after I found the problem with old DVD I said I can not send out this set so i played around with my video editting to find a fix. This set will not have any problems playing back on any DVD player that can play DVD-R

I fixed the lock up problem from the edit parts of the movie where the LDs get flipped. Before I was editting with MPEG2VCR and join the files back to make one big file. This was a problem with old DVD players about six or so years. This is how I fixed the problem with my Panasonic E80. I first recorder to the hard drive. I can record to DVD-RAM but have read that at the end of the disc the bitrate may drop to keep with the time settings. So i record to the hard drive first. Then dubbed to DVD-RAM there is no recoding going from hard drive to DVD-RAM. DVD-RAM or if you have a recorder that uses DVD-RW they use a VRO file. Ever thing is in one file system. I then went to the DVD-RAM and editted out the laserDisc flips. It deletes that part of the file you do not want. Then took it back to the PC and use MPEF2VCR and "DeMultiplexer" the file. Reason for doing this you can not play back the file right after delete after you do any thing to the VRO file. You also have to do this if you record in FR mode if you have two or more rcordings in the VRO file. Then I "Multipexer" the file to together. "DeMultiplexer" what it does it split the Video and audio into two files and "Multipexer" put the two files back together. There is a small light pause in the flips. But this copy will play in any DVD player that can play DVD-R. Also when the package was late I gave out two extra DVD's to make up for being late.

Your really CHARGING people to stand in line?

Spider - can you PLEASE stop trying to sell your set here on the forums. (Jay - can you handle this please?)

This thread is about FEEDBACK for YOUR set - I created it as I have done so for other sets. This is not a thread for you to call people "baby" (love you too sugar ) so PLEASE try to keep your replies and posts in this tread STRICTLY about your set.

Like any trader does without charging? Try the altruisic approach and actually give your stuff away. I've done this in many cases, not even asking for the cost of postage or discs. IT'S NOT YOUR MOVIE!!!

Here's a cost-saving tip. Wrap all 3 discs in a plain 8.5 x 14 sheet of paper like a Christmas present, and put three stamps on it. Stick it in your outgoing mailbox instead of driving to the post office and waiting in line. That will cover the postage, and the odds of something happening to the discs are quite slim. If so, the amount you will have saved overall when you've shipped several of these will more than cover the cost of shipping out a replacement set for that instance where something gets damaged. Case in point: If Netflix can mail millions of discs a day in plain paper envelopes and lose virtually none of their stock, it's a testament to the resiliency of DVDs and shows there is a more cost-effective way to ship discs in the mail.

I've heard that wrapping costs were cut even more than this...

Yeah, always wrap in a peice of paper, don't use a box. I use bubble-wrap too (you wouldn't believe how much I have) since you never know what it's going to be sitting under. Since I'm lazy I usually print the address onto the paper too, of course this I do for international postage which I have to go to the post office (because they are by law required to check my ID). In Australia I can use prepaid envalopes that are cheaper than individual postage would be (they cost $1.20 each, cost of posting the discs would usually be 3 stamps/$1.50).

When posting international stuff (come to think of it) at least half the time my ID does not get checked, I just fill in the customs form and they don't ask for any ID. I assume they just stick the "ID Checked" sticker on anyway once I've left. Maybe it's because they see me all the time. Who can say? Of course I've posted many different things to many different countries so I know the regulations, rules, "red tape" so to speak. But it's nice when you're served by one of those lazy lazy bogans that can see you've got non-printed material, but doesn't even ask you to fill out a customs form.

I will do it my way on how it gets in the mail. Some people have no idea how much it cost to get into video editting and think that they should not have to pay any thing. No one has to get my set. I do not care if you download it. I'm not made of money. If I get little extra it goes back into video editting.

Now, you can ignore my mailing suggestions and keep jacking up your costs unnecessarily, but don't complain about the expense of the materials, postage or your time. I think we all know how expensive it is, and I don't think anybody here is made of money. You're not alone. I think most of us would agree that it is reasonable to expect to recover direct costs (blank discs and shipping costs).

However, to expect to recover the cost of your components or time on a project for whose intellectual property you don't own is overstepping your boundaries and expectations. LD rips and fan reedits ... these are hobbies, not careers. Reset your expectations and you'll be a lot happier in the end with the response your product gets. Keep trying to profit off of this and the long arm of the law will come and put a smackdown on you ... not to mention you'll piss of the majority of this board. Plus, breaking the forum rules by selling material vs. trading or giving away material is also a quick way to have this conduit rent from you altogether.

Spider, you are wearing out your welcome very quickly.

The point being made here is that you need to quit your bitching. All of this was explained to you when you first came here, and you keep acting mistreated. Go complain somewhere else (like Ebay), because you won't get any sympathy here.

Does one not make one of these DVD sets to help others see what they are otherwise denied by LFL? For their happiness? Why would you complain about how much it costs to make? If you're going to do that, don't even bother then.

And here is the clue...

This topic was to review Spider's release... and 'IF' it was of some degree
of quality... then maybe, MAYBE this could have worked in Spider's favor,
And people would be willing to throw down $ for it based on those
reviews. But alas, with Spider basically bitching, I know, now I don't
want him to get any of my money... based on his attitude.

you loose potential revenue.
