Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD * — Page 148

Based on what we've heard and seen so far, I'm guessing Luke and Leia won't have much screen time.  It seems like Han and Chewie will have more significant roles in the film since they interact directly with at least two of the main characters.   R2 and C3PO probably won't have much screen time, either.

Considering Billy Dee is several years older than Harrison Ford (just sayin'), you'd think they'd prioritize him being in Ep7 rather than saving him for the sequels.

IIRC, Leonard Nimoy's appearance in STID was kept under wraps. And these days, you can shoot a simple scene just about anywhere you can set up a green screen.

I figure we'll see a few hologram/video-screen only cameos in the upcoming Star Wars sequels like Leonard Nimoy's in Into Darkness. Hopefully if Lando does return it will be a bit more substantial than that.

Speaking of Into Darkness, JJ's transparent lies about Benedict Cumberbatch not being Khan means we shouldn't be so trustful about who will show up on camera in The Force Awakens. Finn's last name is still being kept under wraps. We may wind up seeing Lando as his dad/grandfather(?) in the course of the film as some type of "surprise."

A TFA Lego product list slated for a December release might possibly have revealed the name of one of the new planets that will appear in the film; Takodana.

Also, I can't remember having seen this picture on this thread before, so I'll just post it here now:

That's the coat I mentioned a few posts ago, much more First-World-War than anything in the OT. Hopefully they release the actual images at some point like they did with the slides they showed at Celebration, it's kind of a bummer that we only have cell phone photos at this point.

Abrams confirms there will be no mention of Midichlorians in TFA:

This is a huge relief for me. Since (as the title suggests) the nature of the Force will be a prominent theme in TFA, I was deeply concerned that Midichlorians would have to rear their stupid heads once more, but this proves that Abrams and Kasdan don't feel the least bit constrained by the nonsense established by the PT.

Funny, they weren't mentioned in Attack of the Clones, either. Luke implied it was hereditary by saying in ROTJ (And used in TFA trailer) "The force is strong in my family, my father has it, I have it, and my sister has it."

That would have been great, though. Turns out the Empire had been dumping antibiotics in all the water supplies during their reign. Palpatine falls and bam, midichlorians begin infecting people's intestinal linings once again and younglings start cropping up to go to Jedi sleepaway camp just like before. Thus, the Force Awakens.

They're clearly modeled on mitochondria so antibiotics are irrelevant.

That's a page by the always excellent Leo Ortolani!

"We're safe, master! Good thing I was able to land on those schoolchildren!"

"The heart of the invasion is in Peacefool's capital. While I'm going there, you and your teddy will wait for me in this village!"

"But.. master!"

"No buts!"

"..terfly!"

"Peter&Paul... I wanted to keep this from you... The council of the knights has decided not to teach you. The say you're not the one. They say you're just a little ratman, like any other. And I have to obey the council."

"As soon as I'm through with my mission, I'll get you back to Desertia."

"What about all those microorganisms in my blood?"

"Keep taking your antibiotics."

"There he goes, along with my dreams... The one where I'm a knight of the horoscope and the one where I'm ordering a tea naked in a bar."

They still got that ugly grading. It makes me puke... :\

I honestly can't tell, and it's not enough to bother me.

Some shots seem to have it, but others don't seem to, such as the Jakku scenes.

That new shot, just like the other one from that scene, still looks very fan-filmy.

Looks cool, just needs some proper grading.

I'm not sure, but I think it's the same grading: they both have strong teals and magentas, though the Jakku's scenes appear brighter and warmer because in the desert.

Crossed fingers for an official better grading, but Virtualdub ready :(

The extreme nitpickers might be slightly relieved that the TIE zoom in shot as it enters the star destroyer engine has had its zoom effect removed in this trailer.

The only thing I want is that the movie itself doesn't suck. Color horrors and stuff like that can be fixed by somebody in the community and I'm certain someone will.

If the movie is really good  I don't mind seeing it in a pink-magenta palette, if the movie end up sucking PT-style then we have a real problem.

I can't wait for the scene in TFA (or maybe Episode 8?) where Rey's parentage is revealed.

I can hear the angry chorus of geeks complaining about how Abrams and Kasdan ripped off Game of Thrones from here.

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
