Interesting. I think it makes sense to cut off the story rather than require it to be completed in the comics. And in fact, hopefully your series will end more subplots than the TV series did, in general.
I must say I would be impressed if you managed to cut out all of the spider body stuff. But I'm sure it will work well however you do it.
