I only saw a non-specific reference to "3 additional discs", although if they were blu-ray they might have trumpeted that. Have you seen them definitely described as DVD discs?
Seems like an utterly redundant re-release - literally just a packaging change with some fugly photoshop pictures on the covers. It would have been easy enough to include an exclusive teaser / tidbit for The Force Awakens to help entice... it's like they're not even trying!
