I honestly don't recall the Klingon mask being pulled off the assassin in the theatrical cut.

Without the briefing scene with Odo Colonel West, it wouldn't make much sense.

Guess we're going to have to find a film print to settle this. ;)

Exactly, I call that the Scooby-Doo ending.

It's really more like the middle of the film (well, two-thirds of the way in). So it's kind of a Muddled Middle.

OK, fine, the Scooby-Doo ending is the unmasking bit, but what do you call the random flashes spelling out who Valris is talking about, complete with sound effects? Mystery Reveals For Dummies?

Not a movie but a season of a TV series. Power Rangers Time Force was reedited in response to 9/11 to lessen the shots of exploding buildings and the after effects of the exploding buildings. Complete with an episode eventually being temporarily banned from airing, even tho it was reedited too, because of how it depicted the building destruction in the episode.

So when Disney bought Power Rangers they apparently threw out the original masters of the unreedited versions. Leaving only poor VHS quality backups of the originals that weren't suitable for a home release. So when Saban bought back Power Rangers he was left unable to release the originals due to Disney throwing them out.

 Wouldn't most, if not all the exploding buildings be in the original Japanese footage though?

 I could never take Power Rangers seriously, as I'd seen the far superior Dynaman on cable only a few years before. ;)

It probably depends on the season. Some seasons of Power Rangers and Super Sentai are better than others. Sometimes a PR series is better than it's Sentai equivalent, and vice versa. (For example, I thought Samurai Sentai Shinkenger was a good show. Power Rangers (Super) Samurai was an inferior shot-for-shot remake with added cheese, and the characters never stopped talking.)

Move to New Zealand then.

I find the idea of replacing the Japanese actors with new footage kind of weird. None of the live action imported shows I watched as a kid were altered in this way.

At the time, I simply accepted the fact that kids in Japan sooner or later end up fighting aliens with giant robots, and slinky outfits. ;)
