You haven't seen it in motion. It was clearly done on film, not on video. The text had gate weave. Besides, no tv master would ever end up on Laserdisc.
JEDIT: and on VHS, I almost forgot about the VHS release. This is what it looked like.
Remember "The Terminator" was basically a B-Movie at the time. If you think that freeze frame was half-assed, brother, you haven't seen nothing.
