As there are a lot of quality fan costumes around, I can't imagine Disney signing off on this.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Sorry! How do you think I feel seeing Chewie slumming in this? ;)

Why anyone would stick an active lightsaber in their mouth is beyond me.
Why anyone would want to spend time on such an ugly-ass website is beyond me.
It's not ugly, just alternatively beautiful*.
*From an alternate point of view.
Facebook and twitter are the most bland and outright ugly websites in the popular realm of the internet, yet people stare at those ugly interfaces for hours.

I mean she is funny. It's crazy how much Star Wars is out there nowadays though. She literally has no connection to the franchise and had a photo shoot with the characters just because. I also just read that the band Wilco (should I be familiar with this band? because I am not) released an album today by the name of Star Wars.
Good thing for them George probably won't sue like the last time somebody appropriated the Star Wars name. ;)

"Not I".
Speaking of ugly... *shot*
Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…
^You better be referring to the Sulu picture, mister, 'cause my avatar is the most beautiful thing in this or any world.
Yep, I'm referring to Sulu. Your avatar is----

Something is off about the whole GQ controversy.
Nobody in the mainstream press has ever done a "dirty" Star Wars pictorial when Lucas owned it, probably because he would have sued them into oblivion. (except for that Chewie Leia boob grab but that was pretty innocent compared to the GQ spread)
Disney gets the property and someone does one within months of the movie's release. Disney acts "offended" but does nothing.
They never would have done that photoshoot without prior approval. All smoke and mirror controversy. Move along.
Pretty sure the boob grab was a gag shot from the ESB set. (It seems like Carrie got frisky with Chewie on all three films!) Somehow it remained unseen before the internet.
And as they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

They have released ten or so albums over the past twenty years, so that's something...

Well LFL/Disney is in a precarious spot. On the one hand, risque pictures of SW characters in a major magazine is not necessarily in the spirit of the franchise, and they're trying really hard right now to control the image of this franchise and putting a lot of thought into what goes out there, and what doesn't. And this doesn't really fit into the image they're crafting.
On the other hand, taking legal action would look pretty bad, like Disney doesn't want to share or play nice with something that isn't really theirs (although this isn't really about Disney, it's up to LFL), and no one really gave a shit when Lucas was in charge (mainstream wise, obviously we always complained). And also, any publicity is good publicity and any exposure is good exposure. It's not an ideal situation, but it's probably a net win for them (certainly it furthers the effort to have SW be a mainstream franchise rather than a niche one).
Paramount is probably taking notes, and we'll see a Orion slave girl centerfold in Playboy next year. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised. Did you see that they're doing a "To Boldly Go" charity sweepstakes with a chance to be in the new Trek film? Basically the same exact thing that "Force For Change" is?
(although Bad Robot is involved in both so that might be why but still you didn't see a one of those for the new Mission: Impossible movie)
Too many legal hassles in strapping a regular Joe to the outside of a jet taking off. ;)

Amadala moved to the USA last year, has acclimated well...
Her failed marriage took a toll on her shape :D
What's with that "May the Forks" on the left? I know it's from the Simpsons, though.

You mean on the right?
I don't know why but first our NBA team the Suns started having Star Wars night and now our MLB team the Diamondbacks are doing the same.
Right, on the right. I should've double-checked my post :\
:D I didn't know teams in 'merica do these kind of things. It almost sounds like they're promoting the new Star Wars movies.
