Shouldn't you all wait for the 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray before taking on a huge restoration/remastering project?

universal said it's not getting a remaster it's the same transfer

I'm not super well informed on BTTF blu-ray stuff, but are there serious problems with the transfer? I thought all the issues were due to their processing downstream of the transfer (DVNR, edge enhancement, etc). Could they end up with something decent from the previous transfer or no?

I believe it would look pretty good if they released the same transfers without the dnr and edge enhancement. Not as good as it could look with a new remaster, but a big improvement. I believe the DCP floating around is the same transfer as the BD, only without dnr and edge enhancement and it looks quite a bit better. I just find it very hard to believe that Universal is not remastering the BTTF trilogy for it's 30th anniversary. That is outrageous if true. I also heard that they digitally erased some sparks or something by accident in one of the films, I think part III. I forget.
