Okay, this is plain weird.  I'm trying to make this BD-compliant, and so I re-encoded the video (works fine), and the main audio also works fine without alterations, but I'm having a heck of a time with the isolated score and French tracks.  I've tried re-encoding and everything--they're just dead silent on my system, but play fine on my PC.  Any ideas?  48k sampling, 16-bit audio, not much that can go wrong there, right?  Weird watermark/copy protection issue?  No idea.

No copy protection issues.  Processing-wise, all audio tracks were completed the same way, so they should all work the same way.

You should not need to reencode the video.  It is already in h264 format.  You would just need to change the container from MKV.

Could I please get in on this! :)

I'm a little late to the party but I've been looking for the theatrical cut forever!

Great work.

If anyone still has the RAR files for version 2, please let me know.  Part 15 has been down for a few days, and I deleted the original RAR files.  If not, I will need to re-split the movie and upload it over again.

I know it's been a while - but I have kept the original rar files. Do you still need it?

All files appear to be up and running now, thanks though.

Hey guys, could I please get in on this? I would really like to be able to have the original oscar-winning version for viewing.

I remembered watching this film decades ago and was a bit disappointed with the Director's Cut. I was sure I remembered a film that was better paced and edited, and was very dismayed that I couldn't find a copy of the theatrical version anywhere.

Then I found this thread. It's incredible that a group of like-minded individuals have already re-edited the film out of no other reason than passion and integrity.

There is a protocol here for requesting invites and it is not to come in to the project thread to do it.  I've posted the link below.

The reason the protocol is in place is to keep these threads clear of off topic posts.  stretch is helping people out which is great but these members need to be sent to the proper thread for their requests.  The spleen  has seen so many hit n runners that it's not funny and it makes us here look bad for being the ones who just handed out the invites for them to do so.

Please respect the OP's thread and the site by using the link below.

Thank you.

Simply demuxing it and putting it on a BD-R using tsMuxer resulted in an unplayable disc for me (admittedly on a sample of one player, but it's an Oppo BDP-93, which is decently well-regarded, and isn't showing any issues on other BD-R's).  Sure it's h264 and 16:9, but there are a few other restrictions when you make a BD-compliant stream too, and maybe one of those is off.  Just re-encoding in x264 with the "--bluray-compat" flag produced a stream that worked without problems for me.  YMMV.  Not really sure about the audio, but since the main track works, I don't care to dig deeper.

This particular project is not hosted on that website, so it would be a bit odd to ask for an invite there.

Anyway, Dylanlip, check your private messages.

Would love to watch this as well. I've never seen the film and don't want to start with the DC.

Is this an admission of not owning Amadeus?  It sure seems like it.

I actually do own the DC. Sitting in a pile with about 100 blurays.

Thanks for the help, stretch.

Yes, please own the director's cut, but don't feel obligated to watch it.  Best not to ruin the experience of the original.  As dark as the movie is already, the director's cut takes mean-spirited to another level.

Would love to watch this please! I, too, prefer the original cut!
