While I like it when you move, I believe it is your son's turn :)
Oh dear...I took for granted that I was holding up the match...
Well Ric, you have now seen my fantastic move...what will you do with that information?

Nothing much...

Kindly remove that lance at 7tu when you have the chance. It isn't being very helpful at the moment.

I assume you're sticking with this move?
What I meant is that I am happy when he moves, for then I know the game is progressing and it is my turn. Weirdo...
;)
Anyway, I'm sure he is sticking with it, or he would have asked for permission to make a change. I'm going to play assuming he kept that move.

Ah, good. Thanks for clarifying. ;)

Forgive me for not being chattier. Usually I like to share insight into my thought process, but I feel this is a very existential battle for lonely me. I have thoughts I wish to share, but they must wait till the game has ended, I believe.
Well, Ric, being that I will most definitely be placing Ender in Check for such an audacious maneuver, it is suggested you perform a snatch of your own...perhaps by taking his Silver General hostage...? I hear he is actually a fairly good cook...

My move will be P 3pq-4qr

With pleasure. He's already been set to work preparing an omelette.

I had another move in mind, but then I realized I'd get stuck if I carried through with it. :P
I just realized that that lance on 7-tu that I was complaining about can't move in the direction that I though was foiling my plans. A pity I hadn't realized that before...
Well, see I'm learning as I go, but sometimes too little too late :( I will move when I get home.
Assuming Post kept the promised move, I will move Kx6qr

Ric, 10yz is your only escape route...and my Lance is anxious to move to 6op anyway...

Well, it's a good thing that's where I'm headed:

The nice thing about teamwork is that you can escape by the skin of your teeth without expecting to be captured the whole time. I cut it kind of close this time, though.

The teamwork aspect, coupled with the ability to disable one's opponent by placing him in check, along with the reality that the King can never truly act as a piece protector if more than one opponent is able to attack a given square, creates a nearly impossible environment in which to win.
If perhaps the King's Illumination power were only slightly more robust...or if the King could teleport up to a given distance it might assist in overcoming such handicaps.

I am kind of thinking the same thing. I see the predicament you were in, since even with my powerful king, I cannot possibly compete with a team twice as large and with double the moves. And given the initial arrangement of the pieces, getting to the pleasure garden is an impossibility. I'm not resigning just yet, but now getting this perspective, I don't think the game is well balanced. I wonder if we can explore this game a little longer, then propose solutions that could enhance the lone player's chances. It will never be a perfectly even game, as such is statistically impossible in a scenario like this, but we could certainly achieve a more appreciable balance.
However, though I don't expect to win, I want to see what kind of a fight I am still capable of making.
