Does the German T1 transfer have cigarette burns?

If this is indeed sourced from a theatrical print then it can't be ignored as a reference. Given the aforementioned poor quality of the transfer then it seems very unlikely that anybody would bother drastically altering the colour timing from the original scan. If you look at the shot of Reese leaning over in the car, it's coloured completely differently from more recent transfers. I don't see how this can be the result of a bad scan or put down to the poor quality of the transfer.

Also, if you look at the night scenes in the Japanese DVD comparison shots, you see that the cyan colour timing is present there also.

After seeing this and the 8mm Aliens frames recently posted, I really am starting to come around to the idea that the BD releases of Cameron's movies are genuine (albeit poorly executed) attempts to recreate the theatrical look.
