I have done some writing, however I've always fallen out of the routine. It takes a LOT of discipline to sit down and write. I used to try to get at least 3 pages a day, which isn't much but it is if you're sitting there banging away at keys and trying to come up with ideas. Believe it or not, I had what I considered a perfect match in terms of what I'd like to write, and what I thought I could write for the past couple of months, and actually began to do research on my subject. Then I went in to a book store and saw two new books on the subject. My heart sank.
I've always believed that I have the talent to write but I've NEVER had the discipline.

They probably did exist at some point and may still exist but are lost. Whether or not they had/have any 'magical' powers, well it could just be legend. That's the thing about legends - you never know. Have you read the Da Vinci code? If not, it's a pretty good 'popular' introduction to an old grail theory.
This is where I laugh. Now, I'm not laughing at you, YIYF, but, well, I'll admit that as a teenager, I was enthralled by grail theories and conspiracies and that. I read all the books and literature on the subject, including 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail' and then learned a terrible truth. Pierre de Plantard made up everything he said about the Priory of Sion. Now, that doesn't mean the Grail never existed, but it did mean that book lost a lot of its credibility. There's documented evidence that the Priory of Sion was creadted in 1956 to protest a housing commision in France. The stuff about it guarding the grail and the holy bloodline and todays Knights Templar, well, it's crap.
Nonetheless, when I heard about 'Da Vinci Code', I knew I had to read it (and Angels and Demons). It's a popularist fancy, and an engaging story, but it's just that, STORY. If you do read it, don't think of any of it as true. It's a romanticism of 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail', even mentioning it in the book. It's as though Dan Brown read HBHG and thought, "That's really cool, let's make it a novel!" without reading anything else. Now, it's still a fun book, but you can't even think of the theories as theories, since most of them have been proved bunk.

I get out in a little over three months, and that day can't come soon enough. I really hate this place. But anyway, I'll be going back to college in Denver to finish my degree. I really want to be a web designer, or do something with video editing or production. Not really sure yet.

sad thing is until about a year ago I thought the arc was made up in raiders.
What so I spelled ark wrong!
Me, I wasn't shocked for the spelling mistake, but for the fact you thought George Lucas created the Ark!
He didn't?

I held a less-than-six-month job as a dishwasher back in July-December of 2008 before I was laid off. I haven't held a real job since then. =(

No, Noah did, of course!
I have a very, very vague idea about what I want to be...something that has to do with languages, history, and/or religion.

I've been doing volunteer work at a historic house for a couple of weeks now and have been doing part time paid work here and there for the past couple of months.
Great news is that I've recently been given a commission to animate an adaptation of an author's short story, and am also currently in production working on a documentary. After I've worked on those I'll be pulling together funding to start work on my first feature length film. Fun stuff! :D

^ Fantastic! Working on an animation sounds like an amazing opportunity. Perhaps you can reveal what short story it is in due course.

I'm a Software Engineer, but I hate that title and prefer Computer Programmer instead.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!
