I'm 24, and I like Avril too. I know she's not marketed to my demographic, but I like her more than most female artists. There's less of the studio and more of the musician in her.

That is something else I hate: Prepackaged studpidty that record companies pass as music. Like Hilary Duff's albums or (especially) late-nineties boy bands and Britney SPears kind of thing.

I read an article by a guy from the Eagles about how musicians need to find out how to regain control of their own music. Currently the labels control most of it, so a single entity controls the style. Additionally, it gives the industry a corporate face that soothes people's consciences about piracy and stuff. He was talking about how when he was in the industry each band owned their own stuff and labels really only served for distribution and administration type stuff. Not only did it weed out the bad bands from the good ones, but it established a connection between fans and the bands.

And so on and so forth. He didn't know how to make it happen, since there's so much more money to be had in the current system. He was just defining the problem.

LOL.

Well nobody says that Avril Lavigne's alleged "toughness" is actually real.

I've been playing San Andreas, where I heared an Alice in Chains song. I thought the music itself was pretty sweet, but the "vocals" were annoying. Which describes about 90% of music today.

Ohh. I really hate that too. especially when i have a long day at work and all and then my annoying... relative keeps calling to check on me......empty nest syndomre, i guess *sigh*.... Wow. I probably revealed a little more than y'all wanted to know.

My grandma is like that, she will call us just to tell us she is going to Wal-Mart to pick up buttermilk or ask us if we want cranberry sauce on a turkey for thanksgiving on Nov 9th.
