Grabbed JGtH off Usenet last night and it is missing too many blocks and too damaged to repair. Anyone else have any luck grabbing it?

It came down perfect for me. I didn't even need one block to repair. Who is your UseNet provider? I use Usenet Server (UNS) and NZB club to search for the NZB.

Astraweb and I grabbed it from binsearch. Ill try another search provider.

Well, not to make you feel bad but you should ditch Astraweb. They are notorious for incompletes. I use to use them myself.

I recently upgraded from a Panasonic BDT-230PK to an Oppo BDP-103, and while I loved them both, the upgrade was very much worth it.

Though I could see the Oppo as actually being a problem with testing, as it can take just about anything you throw at it, which would defeat the purpose of seeing if there are errors with lesser players.

Does your Oppo play BD-R's?  I've read before that Oppo's removed BD-R Functionality.  As for recommendations, I stand by the PS3.  It literally plays everything, is as quick as any player on the market, isn't hugely expensive (oppo I'm looking at you) has network functionality and so much more.  Pick up a $20 remote and you're good to go.  As much as I'd like a traditional Standalone, the PS3 is just too good of a player with so much more to offer that I don't think I could choose anything else.

Yeah, it plays BD-R 25s and 50s with no problems, and handles just about any digital file I throw on a thumbdrive. I always had bad luck with the PS3 as not all files are compatible with it, but other than that I do agree that the PS3 is a fine blu-ray player. I just choose to not use it so it will last longer for my game collection.

Hey Guys I just wanted to ask 1 more time what Blu-ray players do you all like? I have no choice now but to get a new one, I can no longer test our BD50's and we have NOTLD68 coming and it will need testing big time, and now it is started to have a hard time reading retail BD50's as well, so it is about to shit for good lol, so what players do you guys like that load fast and can read these projects we do?

I would like 3D but I don't think any Company supports "checkerboard" output anymore, my Panasonic Player now does but as I said it is almost dead! so if you guys know of any that support that type 3D playback as well that would be sweet but I doubt it.

Thanks

Hey DJ,

It appears that the only company that supports the "checkboard" output is Panasonic.  Here is a list of Panasonic models which have been verified as of 2015 to include this output:

DMPBDT100
DMPBDT110
DMPBDT210
DMPBDT215
DMPBDT220
DMPBDT230
DMPBDT300
DMPBDT310
DMPBDT320
DMPBDT350

I did a quick look over on Amazon and found that they have a new DMPBDT230 (2013 model) which is region free for a little over $100.  In addition someone asked on the product page aboout checkerboard output and it was confirmed that it does support it.  If this is true, this maybe your best bet and the region free ability is the icing on the cake.

As for me, I agree with the PS3 being a good all around player but I personally have a stand alone Sony player to handle movies and reserve the PS3 for  game playing only.  I might also add that all of the Team Blu projects that I have, have been successfully on the 2 players above and an older Samsung player as well without any issues to bring up.  I hope this helps.

Yes, this is the same Panasonic model I have. I was very happy with it, but it seemed to have troubles playing one movie I purchased, and I was looking for an excuse to upgrade to Oppo so I took the opportunity. In no way was I ever disappointed with the 230 otherwise, and have it stored away still as I wasn't sure what to do with it yet. It's not region free like the one mentioned above though, so it's not perfect.

I finally got around to watching Jason Goes to Hell last night and the film looks and sounds great.  Where are the various audio tracks sourced from?

Got a 3 day pass to UsenetServer, worked like a charm. Damn Astraweb but they're soooo cheap!

Cheaper than $10 USD a month unlimited. That's what I'm paying.

Yes as Vinnie said I have the info I just need to get time, also I need to try and remember how I did all this before lol, I have to set everything back up, but as I said I need the time and hopefully I will get some this weekend, we are getting a new addition to our Family this Saturday and we are excited about this and need to get ready.

Thanks for your patience, hopefully by the time I am able to put up Jason Goes to Hell Unrated I will also be able to upload Trick or Treat!

Thanks for this info, a Panny 210 is what I have now and it is old, I didn't think they still made it lol, I will have to look this over and get a new player real soon or things might be on hold for a while until I can test, and our BD's need testing especially BD50's, knock on wood we have not had a bad disc go out to you guys yet and I hope it never does.

Thanks again

*edit, by the way I do the same things, my gaming systems are just that, games, I do test sometimes on my PS3 just to see the cool BD pic my menu guy chooses though and to try out all the menu functions.

Are we (I) able to help you with these costs at all ? If you DM me some info I would be happy to help a little whenever I can to help the cause.

Yes once I am up and running(when I can get time, I do have the Box right now, thanks Vinnie!) the Team would love help, Vinnie said the Box that I will be using is $20 a month, and he has generously given us 3 months, so after that it is up to us to keep it going, soon as I get it going and I put JGTH Unrated up at BT then we can figure out who really wants to help and then I can give you guys the details, so just keep checking here for more info, I do now have all the details I just want to get something available first.

Thanks for the help by the way, it is really appreciated.

So, last Week I got some of the TeamBlu stuff. (The one who made this possible knows who he is :) )

And so I was able to give "The Neverending Story" (2 Discs), "Jason goes to Hell", "Conan - Extended Cut", "Night of the living Dead [1990]", "Terminator" and "Temrinator 2" a "try".

Long things short: I just love the Work of Team Blu. That's what official Release should be... (okay, personally I would love having a german Audio track, because some people I know just watch movies.. dubbed, and have no interest in watching them in original Audio, so I can enjoy these Blus only with quite a few friends... )

I think it is quite good, that this weekend my next door neighbor is not at home. The 2.0 Track on Terminator 2 is just a monster. I love the complete dynamic of the CDS (if I remember right) track, but the 2.0 Track just blows my Audio Setup into new spheres of power.

Damn great work.

Thanks MrBrown for the great words! you know if someone would sync foreign tracks for us then they could be included in future projects, obviously I cannot do it.

I just want to make mention of this in case some have not read or heard, if we are doing a project and there is a foreign language for it, we can add it if you guys can provide an in sync track, so if you guys would like to see German, Italian, Spanish, etc. this can be done, but for obvious reasons I cannot put it in sync.

Thanks
