Well, I'm glad we got this cleared up this early in the game. I wouldn't have wanted to get my king promoted in the pleasure garden and checkmate my dad, only to find that I couldn't do either. ;)

LOL, I'm not sure what would have kept him away from us on a Sunday evening (unless he's busy programming, but that's no excuse to not make a move ;)).

Sorry, yes I did intend to promote.  I hope you will still let that pass, since that was my primary intent of my move.  However, judging by Post's move, it may be moot.  I'll need to look for a minute....

Yes, it appears I will need to capture the rook and lose mine in the process.  A clever move.  I thought I saw something good, but it wouldn't work, so we'll stick with the most straightforward approach.

I used the pawn on 8xy.  My apologies.

Yes, I could have let his rook get away, but I think having two rooks in the same army is actually a good thing, so only one can move per round.  Nevertheless, this is tricky business.

I've no reason to change mine. I don't know if my dad wants to take back his and let my rook defend his knight, which would be nice....

The shoe on the other foot makes me appreciate the gravity of your situation in our last game, Praetorian.  It's difficult to know how to navigate against two armies.
