The prints have a yellow-green tint, while the bd has a blue-green tint. It's obvious by looking at the "fellowship of the ring" title that's fades in at the beginning, which is supposed to be nearly white, but instead appears teal.  The DVD is not entirely accurate to a print, but it is easier to watch and feels more natural than the blu Ray. To me, it's never been quite so much about whether it is perfectly accurate, rather that it just looks and feels right.
