This could be an amazing resource, beside the Star Wars films they have 16mm copies of (including what others have mentioned):

Indy films

Close Encounters

Ghostbusters

2001

Star Trek 2

ET

Independence Day (eh)

War games

Edward Scissorhands

Shrek

Fantastic Voyage

Explorers

Short Circuit

Forbidden planet

Planet of the apes

Princess Bride

Dracula

North By Northwest

The Birds

39 Steps

And that's just from a few minutes of searching

Not fantastic quality, but this is an original broadcastrecording on YouTube...

We have only currently had access to the sources, and the scans.

Which is why we didn't mention it previously.

Most likely we will include one with each movie released.

However, there will be a disc with all of them on there so you won't have to wait for all of them to be released separately.

This is just fantastic news! Any idea of a timeline? And what about the 2 Raiders docs?

Sorry, no timeframe currently. We will definitely be putting out the Making of Star Wars when that is released.

We also have plans for the 4 Raiders / Indiana Jones films, so that will have to wait.

Most of the prints were in mint or near mint condition. So they should look fine.

We're not sure if we will do cleanup on them, or if they need it.

To me, for bonus features, like making ofs, VHS quality is good enough. Unless there are scenes in it that are not in the movies, and can be put back in the movie for alternate editions.

"VHS quality is good enough"? VHS quality is good enough!?!

No. It doesn't matter what it is, it should be released in the best quality possible.

Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…

Then don't bother downloading it. It's that simple.

And make sure you don't come back into this thread to a) look for updates or b) argue your point further.

I live about 20 minutes away from the city and I have a buddy at the Lincoln Center. If this is still needed, I'll see what I can do.

Close Encounters, Ghostbusters, 2001, Star Trek 2, ET.  These interest me the most.  It just drools of awesomeness.

Just finished checking out the 16mm of - The Creatures from Revenge of the Jedi.

It might have some scenes that were not released before, we will check. The quality is very good for the condition that it is in.

It's pretty grainy, but not that distracting. We will be doing some light cleanup on it.

This version is about 11 minutes long.

That's certainly not Classic Creatures, then. I wonder what it is.

Actually, this may be something rare. In early 1983, some time prior to ROTJ's release, a Nickelodeon series called "Standby, Lights, Camera, Action!", hosted by Leonard Nimoy, showed a featurette on the ROTJ creatures that has never surfaced anywhere else. It still referred to the film as "Revenge of the Jedi" (this show ran the featurette after the title had been changed, so Nimoy had to explain the concept of a working title).

Here is the featurette excerpt that was aired on the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr8s-CDOSMI

That clip is obviously abridged, and I've long wondered if it came from something longer. The fact that Team -1 referred to the reel they have as "The Creatures from Revenge of the Jedi" leads me to believe that it is in fact the full source of the clip from "Standby, Lights, Camera, Action!"

Then, the question remains: do you legitimately have Classic Creatures? Or do we still need that?

This was probably also made available to tv stations ahead of the movie release. That narration is certainly not from the longer documentaries.

A similar featurette was made for Raiders, and was a store exclusive from Best Buy when the Indiana Jones trilogy was first released.

Where were you in '77?

Yes, we have the full version of the documentary about Return of the Jedi. This was the first one we were checking out, because it was a promo.

And is this 11-minute promo indeed a longer version of what was in the YouTube clip I posted?

A lot of those are available on 35mm for either loan or rent. If there is any real interest (i.e. people willing to cover the cost of rental and freight etc.) most of those could be sourced from 35mm instead of 16mm.

This is great news.

Is there a 16mm source for From Star Wars to Jedi as well?
