Once we realized that we were going to have Padme live beyond childbirth, it seemed a bit odd that she would give up Luke and not Leia. So we came up with a bit of a justification in which it is tradition for Jedi to take their first born to be trained. So she hides Luke instead of Leia.

TMBTM: I am curious to hear your reaction to the full cut. One of the primary goal of this cut was to make Anakin as "cool" of a character as we could.
