Nothing was twisted, your comment bothered me as much as anything that followed. Given that I have a daughter with special needs, I find nothing funny about short bus jokes.
First off, it was not meant in a derogatory way. It wasn't even said in a derogatory way.
That's like calling a straight person a faggot and then saying "hey, it wasn't derogatory, I was just teasing you."
Secondly, since I don't live next door to you I could not know you have a daughter or that she has special needs.

Thirdly, with all your own slight of hand mischief around this forum, you should be the last person to talk about not finding jokes of any kind funny or not.
I'm pretty sure I have the right to determine what I personally find funny. I don't find short bus jokes funny. I also don't find rape jokes funny. I also don't find fart jokes funny. Sorry.

yeah, that is definitely not funny. I believe I have already mentioned that I was classified as a "slow learner". I was not retarded, but closer to it than the average kid. I was in a special class for a couple of years and then returned to regular classes. I rode a short bus. Although I don't know it had anything to do with being in the special class, I rode in the same short bus even after I returned to regular classes, until I went to another school.
Warbler, Danfun .... you were not the only ones as kids to ride the short bus. I also know some kids who ride the short bus and they make their own jokes about it .... they simply don't care. The are proud of who they are and are aware that one's mode of transportation does NOT define them as people. I am sorry if I upset you 2 as well.
