What audio source do you use for the Workprint ESB?
she/her
mwah
The audio mentioned before : AUDIO : AAC 192k 48k Stereo English is the 35mm version.
Team Negative1
Someone screened their faded ESB 35mm German print, this is what the Deconstructed version would look like:

A German print? How awesome is that? I was hoping that some German prints would still be in existence.
What's more interesting is that among his videos is also a couple of video of screenings of Star Wars, which are clearly German too and in the description he claims it's a Technicolor print and from the colors in the videos it seems believable - so were there tech prints made for other European countries than just Britain?
Yes, I know him and he has a German Tech IB print. It is pretty nice.

Can you convince him to give the print to negative_one or someone else for scanning?
Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…
Actually only the German parts (crawl, Greedo, credits) would really be in need of scanning. Plus the soundtrack, of course!
...I thought IB Tech film was superior to LPP film...I don't know enough about film types, so I could be wrong...

The LPP and tech IB both have different characterestics. Also, the condition of the film is an important factor. Most Techs have a lot of damage.

Here is a continuation of the clips with some partial cleaning done on them. This is from Reel 1, where Luke meets the Wampa creature.

Colors and detail are looking great! Keep 'm coming!
Actually, these are the uncorrected clips and frames. There could be some improvement on the contrast and brightness.
Team Negative1
Uncorrected? I thought the print was wayyy more faded than that.
Good news.

Sorry about the wording on that. These clips come from the Grindhouse version, so they have been corrected once in some cases.
Different reels and different shots were taken from different sources, at this point only the last 2 reels have extensive color correction on them. The rest have been lightly altered.
Team Negative1
How does the quality of the reels you're planning to use for the final version compare to the Grindhouse? I think the Grindhouse is surprisingly detailed, despite the obvious shifts in color. Also, are there going to be significant quality differences between the preservations of the three films?

Damn, I thought you guys must have found a relatively unfaded new source.

The 3rd print which is all Fuji, is relatively unfaded. This will be the major source for the release version.

Hi guys
Just watched your Renegade Grindhouse edition of ESB. Took me about 4 hours to download it from The Piratebay, where some kind anonymous soul uploaded it to (no invites on MySpleen and no premium account on Usenet Downloader for my country - yikes!), but it was totally worth the wait!
But it's not the post about that, it's about appreciation and excitement for your work. It's totally amaizing! I guess you guys make a lot of people happy, me included. Growing up on the outskirts of the Soviet Empire, I never got a chance to watch original Star Wars theatrically (banned for political reasons of course), but I imagine this is how ESB would look if only I had a chance to see it in cinemas in my childhood. Ah, the sweet 80's :)
Now I'm really excited about all other Star Wars films preservations you're working on (including the final version of ESB) and will be there when you finish them - that is, if another kind anonymous soul will be willing to upload them to torrents. And if not, I'll figure out a way to get ahold of them anyway.
Thanks again for that tremendous work you do to keep us fans happy!

Fantastic work so far, folks. Keep up the awesome work. Extremely excited to see the final product(s).

Thanks for your story, and glad you enjoyed the release. We are working on the other films, and are sure there will be multiple ways to access them.

Well, I've found a way to sneak into Usenet, so now I'm sure I'll have it figured out! :)

Just to give more samples from the Fuji print, here's a low bitrate scene of Luke recovering with C3PO, and R2D2.
