youtube and google+

ok, I am totally confused and probably totally stupid.   How the heck do they work together? 

I posted a comment on youtube on someone's video.  I got a lot of responses.  On reading them,  it became clear that I wasn't seeing a certain person's responses.   When I asked about that on youtube, I was told I had to view them on google + (I have very little experience using google +).   It turns out somehow my youtube account is somehow connected with google+.  I was able to sign into google+ via my youtube password.  So I got into google+, but where to I go to see comments on youtube videos????   I am sorry to do this, but I am totally confused. 

yeah I know that.  I am just trying to understand how it works.  I don't understand why I can't see this one guy's replies on youtube.  I was told to go to google+, but where on google+?

Is there some place on google+ for reading youtube comments that I am somehow missing?

I don't know if this is the same for everyone, but when I sign into my Google account, the small circle to the right of the screen with the little bell symbol inside it is where I find my messages waiting for me.

The circle turns red when the inbox is full and gives you the number of how many messages are waiting to be read.

You know when go on to youtube and you watch a video?   Below the video are comments people make about the video.  Where on Google+ do you go to see those comments?
