It may have been done to death since the 70's, but this crossover was a pretty big deal when I was a kid.

There is already connective tissue between GOTG and the rest of MCU, but I don't want to see them turn up on Earth unless there's a darn good reason.

If there's ever a crossover with the Avengers, it should be on GOTG's turf. Then they end up needing Starlord and company's experience to survive, after getting their asses handed to them of course. ;)

How did they get a whole comic out of that. I mean I love Spider-Man as much as the next guy but I fail to see how he would last five seconds in a battle against Superman.

Supes and Spidey have a brief tussle, before teaming up against Lex Luthor and Doc Ock, didn't have quite the same ring to it. ;)

IIRC, Lex zapped Spidey with red sun radiation, which briefly made it a fair fight.

Okay, that makes a lot more sense.
