When a minor character just HAPPENS to run into our primary characters again, or is somehow involved in major events concerning them, a full 30 YEARS LATER no less, that IS universe shrinkage.

Bear in mind, this wasn't a main antagonist integral to the plot. This was a mercenary who until the Prequels was only significant in the one movie.
