No, I agree, it would be a big change to cannon. BUT it's never mentioned that something like that DIDN'T happen in the Clone Wars or any of the movies. Basically, I'm sticking with what's on-screen as far as continuity goes. I'm willing to bend and warp it, I'm just not willing to do crazy stuff.

Crazy stuff being something like "Maul goes by Vader, and there's no 'Darth' title or Sith."
